Who is Experimental Mum?

I’m Melanie Riddell, I live in the Highlands of Scotland with my husband Stuart and our two daughters.  I run my business Sizzling Science from home. (although sometimes, I hide work in my wee office caravan!)

Who are the Science Sisters?

Freya is big sister at 9 years old and little sister, Erynn is 7 years old. Two bouncy, clever, beautiful little girls. Life is rarely quiet in our house! As well as experimenting they like horse riding, in fact they want to save up for a horse, so far they’ve raised £32, so we’re not going to hear the pitter patter of hooves any time soon!

Why are you Blogging?

Ever since the girls were tiny, they’ve loved playing “Lab-coats” and trying out Mammy’s crazy experiments. Now they dream up their own experiments! I want to capture this stage of their lives and hope you enjoy the posts as much as we enjoy creating them.

Why did you choose the  theme?

The theme is called Grunge2 1.0 by AskGraphics.com It reminded me of our dining table – that’s where most of our experiments happen! The posts have a notebook feel, so this is our virtual lab notebook too.
